PLANTS FROM N. AZARBAYEJAN, NEW TO IRAN

The following species are recorded as new to the flora of Iran: Aconitum pubiceps, Androsace armenianca, Cerastium szowitsiit Agropyron caninum, Geranium pratense, Hablitzia tamnoides, Lepidium campestre, Menyanthes trifoliata, Rosularia pilosa, Rubus saxatilis, Sedum subulatum, Silene multifida, Vincetoxicum rehmannii. Anemone albana which has been questionably recorded for Iran in Flora of Turkey and Flora of the USSR is reported from Azarbayejan. Exact locality is given for Cerastium purpurascens.

NEW RECORDS OF CUSCUTA ( CUSCUTACEAE) FROM IRAN

Cuscuta campestris Yunck. and C. lehmanniana Bge. are reported as new to the flora of Iran. A new gathering of C. haussknechtii Yunck., previously only known from the type locality, is reported.

THE GENUS TAMARIX (TAMARICACEAE) IN PAKISTAN

A revision of Tamarix in Pakistan is presented, including nomenÂclature, key, descriptions, locality lists and critical comments. The treatment is based on extensive living material as well as herbarium material in Pakistan and major European herbaria. Types have been examined of almost all taxa discussed. 25 species, one of which is divided into two varieties, are recognized in Pakistan. 5 new species are described: T. pakistanica Qaiser, T. baluchistanica Qaiser, T. sultanii Qaiser, T. alii Qaiser, and T. sarenensis Qaiser, One new combination, T. androssowii Litw. var. transcaucasica (Bge.) Qaiser, is presented. The following names are for the first time treated as synonyms: T. florida Bge. var. albiflora Bge. (= T. arceuthoides Bge.), T. bungei Boiss. (=T. arceuthoides Bge.), T. karakalensis Freyn var. myriantha Freyn (= T. arceuthoides Bge.), T. leptopetala Bge. (= T. mascatensis Bge.) T. desertii Boiss. [ = T. tetragyna Ehrenb. var. meyeri (Boiss.) Boiss.], T. bengalensis Baum (= T. indica willd.),T. pauciovulata J. Gay ex Batt. & Trab. (= T. passerinoides Del. ex Desv. var. macrocarpa Ehrenb.), T. balansae J. Gay ex Batt. & Trab. (= T. passerinoides Del. ex Desv. var. macrocarpa Ehrenb.).

NOTES ON THE FLORA AND VEGETATION OF S. BALUCHISTAN, IRAN

Notes about the subtropical vegetation on the lowland plains along the Dashtiari river, close to the border of Pakistan are given. The following species from the area are reported as new to the flora of Iran: Coelachyrum piercei, Commicarpus helenae, Digitaria nodosa, Diptergium glaucum, Enneapogon brachystachyus, Maerua arenaria and Farsetia ramosissima. Comments are given on the distinction between Laisurus hirsutus and L. scindicus. The confÂusion about naming of material of Acacia ehrenbergiana from Iran is reviewed.

ARUM GIGANTEUM (ARACEAE), A NEW SPECIES FROM W. IRAN

Arum giganteum is described as a new species from W. Iran near Ilam. The new species resembles A. elongatum Steven, but differs in the different size and shape of spathe.
